Welcome to our new Free Range subscription box! Sign up today to receive a monthly surprise of fine leather goods, curated by Jill and our JH crew!
Items range from earrings to bracelets, card holders, carly clutches, catchalls, small pieces/sets and other fine leather accessories offered by Jill's Homestead. Items are made in our workshop in Chariton, IA. We occasionally collaborate on JH Items such as our latest candle collection. You may even see some fun items from other local small businesses, but the majority of the box will be JH goods! You never know what you will get in your monthly Free Range box!
All boxes typically include new or exclusive designs or colors or fun seasonal sets and items.

If you order ON OR BEFORE THE 9TH of the month you will receive the current Nest Box.
If you order AFTER THE 9TH of the month you will be charged at the time of purchase, however, when you receive your Subscription box the following month, you will not be charged for that month.
Boxes are priced at $149, but will have a total retail value well over the price of the box. Occasionally, we will send out products worth over $200 in just one box!
The Free Range Boxes will ship on the third Thursday of every month; you will receive tracking information when your box ships.
You may cancel or pause any time.
Any Cancellations, Holds, or Changes to your account can be managed through the email that you will receive after purchasing your Free Range Box.

Shipping + returns
Smooth leather bags are generally handcrafted within 5–8 business days.
Eligible unused items may be returned within 14 calendar days for store credit. Customer-paid return shipping and a 4% restocking fee apply. Custom orders, specialty straps, signature fringe bags, and qualifying promotional items are not eligible for returns.
Leather + care
Our premium full-grain leather may show natural range markings, grain variation, and subtle color differences. That honest character is part of every piece.
Condition smooth leather periodically with a high-quality leather conditioner. Cowhide requires no treatment and should be carried with the hair side facing away from the body to minimize friction.

Your piece begins as a full hide in our Chariton workshop. Our small team cuts, sews, sets the hardware, and finishes every piece in-house, giving the leather and every detail the time it deserves.

I like surprises, especially when they come in leather goods. The Free Range box values are well over the purchase price, filled with goodies such as a new bag design, or a trio of leather small pieces such as a large notebook cover/organizer, pens in a case, and more.

It contained a beautiful cowhide journal with whiskey leather on the inside. Beautiful leather and cowhide! With a matching pencil bag and three JH pens. I mean it’s the most beautiful journal I own now. All materials are high quality. I was pleasantly surprised!

I received the June Free Range box. I love JH for the original cowhide prints where no two are alike. For some reason this box was all suede. The size, design and structure are wonderful but my heart melts for cowhide and this is to plain for me.

I received a new bag Jill has created with the front a beautiful cowhide and the back a gorgeous premium tan suede! I was blown away! In shock, I mean I just couldn’t get over it. I literally think it may be my favorite bag now. I ordered a wallet and specially shoulder strap ( Sctually I wonnthem in the silent auction). Jill and Jill’s team craft high quality full grain leather, premium suede and beautiful cowhides and create unique and stunning bags! They take care of their customers!
