How long does it take to receive my order?
Most smooth leather bags are made to order and our current lead time is 5-7 business days. Orders ship Priority Mail through the USPS or UPS. Typically, orders are shipped within 2-3 business days. Our business days are Monday-Thursday. We are not in the workshop on Fridays. *Please note that specials, sales, events, or severe weather will effect this time. With special sales or customs, it can take up to 2-3 weeks before your items are handcrafted and shipped.
What are your store hours?
We are very unique in that we offer our products almost exclusively online. We do offer occasional opportunities to shop in person at our Open House Days. Please read more about Open House opportunities to visit in person here.
We offer live shopping occasionally on our facebook page as well!
Are you accepting custom orders?
Please send a photo to contact@jillshomestead.com of the package, item, and explain what is wrong with the item upon arrival. These rare instances will be dealt with on a case by case basis. We have great luck with our packages, but occasionally, things happen and items can be damaged during the shipping process. We are not responsible for loss, stolen or damaged during shipping but we will do our best to assist.
Repairs on Purchases:
Within 6 months of purchase, we will be happy to make repairs to a damaged product if the repair is a result of an error on our part. After 6 months, the customer is responsible for the cost of repairs. The customer is also responsible for the cost of the repair and shipping of any repair that is not caused by Jill's Homestead.
Leather and Cowhide Care
We handcraft every bag with authentic and high quality leather. We are not responsible for item wear that is a result of customer use. This includes, but is not limited to; constant rubbing, heavy packing, misuse or harsh environmental conditions. Proper care for leather items such as conditioning and proper cleaning will ensure the longevity of your item(s).
One of my earrings flew off and I lost it. Can I just get one earring?
We do not replace half sets of earrings or single earrings. This is primarily because we work in genuine leather, and each hide is different, so likely, if we did replace, the hue of the leather may be slightly different and not match your existing earring. We recommend keeping the earring backs that come on your earrings and putting them on any time you wear your earrings to help prevent earrings from flying off in the wind or getting easily pulled out on a scarf or hood.
Are your earring hooks nickel free?
Yes, our earring hooks are hypoallergenic and nickel-free.
What are your shipping rates?
Shipping rates are as follows:
$7 for orders under $100
$20 for orders $100-499
$29 for orders over $500
We ship both UPS and USPS.
My package was stolen off my porch/lost - what can I do?
We are not responsible for your order once it leaves our doorstep. USPS/UPS tracking is sent via email after your order ships (Check spam/promotions folders if you don't see it right away). Please follow up with USPS/UPS if your package is lost or appears stolen. You are able to file a claim directly with the local office.
If your package says delivered, but you can't find it - please talk to your local post office or UPS office as we are not the delivering personnel, and the "Delivered" message is automated by the local carriers marking the package as delivered. We are not physically delivering your package, so please follow up with the local carriers. We are limited on the information we can provide but can certainly look up your tracking if you can't find it and provide your tracking number and any other pertinent information. All claims for lost/stolen packages need to be filed by the recipient.
